Callum McCormick, M0MCX of DX Commander, Ltd. has been inspiration for me since I became a ham in 2016. I followed his channel DXCommander - YouTube and learned what I could from Callum. One video in particular served as a kickoff point for this whole adventure. Callum was talking about a triangular array that was used in the CB world. It was called a Super Scanner. It was a three-element triangular vertical dipole phased array. He modeled this design as a parasitic array versus a phased system, using ground mount verticals. I was so curious about this system, I built two parasitic arrays for our club's field day, one for 20m and one for 40m. They worked amazing well. I began to research how to phase that system. I was a fairly new ham and very impatient to get this system built, hence I did not learn all I should have and built a less than optimum system. It worked but it was not all that I hoped for. I even built Callum a controller and relay network to switch the array in three directions. As time went on, I keep researching the subject of phased arrays. I wanted to produce results that I would be happy with. I was a guest on Callum's YouTube Channel several times. What a privilege that was, talking to one of my mentors and interacting with him. As I learned more from others' channels like Colin Sumers MM0OPX, MM0OPX Field Radio - YouTube. I began to feel the need to produce a system that was less expensive that the current products on the market. There are very few sources for phasing kits, and they are expensive. They use a different method, which is in fairness more efficient than the Christman Method I am using. That said these kits are locked to a single band and much more expensive. I hope to help others enhance their enjoyment of amateur radio with these kits. Thank you, Callum, for your inspiration and thank you Colin for your willingness to share your knowledge.
